Letterpress business cards are becoming increasingly popular because creative people know that the quality and look of letterpress is unmatched by traditional offset printing. One of the reasons why people respond so well to letterpress printing is because of what we like to call the “sentimental factor”, which is that when someone receives something as beautiful and tactile as a letterpress business card they tend to hold on to it.
We recently printed new business cards for Riley Maclean of Kinetic Lens. His design was inspired by the multiple focus spots that pop up when taking a picture which looks really good when pressed into our thick 220# paper. Using a combination of red and burgandy ink as well as a blind deboss, we printed both sides of the card allowing the front with his logo to stand out and not be cluttered by the additional contact information.
Double-sided printing is quite popular because of just that and we recommend using a heavier stock when duplex printing to provide maximum impression with minimal push-through (bruising) on either side. The blind deboss on the front of the card helps to fill the white space and completes the original concept for the logo. All in all we think these cards are pretty cool.

Our Valentine’s Day 2009 letterpress giveaway had some great engagement stories and when it came down to selecting a winner we had a hard time choosing. We picked high school sweethearts, Karlee & Benjamin, who had a great engagement story. We printed their Save the Date cards this weekend and they turned out great … at least we think they did!

The cards are printed on our 100% cotton paper (110#) using our vegetable oil based inks. We custom mixed the chartreuse and chocolate brown ink and after a little work we had these great Save the Date cards. The scalloped circles look great pressed into the paper and we paired the Save the Date with a matching square chartreuse envelope to add a pop of color. We’re very happy to have this design and several other new invitation sets added to our wedding portfolio.

We have always made it our first priority to take care of our clients and work hard to make sure their invitations turn out even better than they imagined. So, we were happy to receive an email a few weeks ago from the Editors at Style Me Pretty inviting us to be featured in their Little Black Book. Being hand picked by Abby and her staff means a lot to us because it validates all of the hard work we’ve done up to now.
We’ve been so busy printing that it wasn’t untill this week that we were able to reply and let them know how excited we were to be chosen. If you’re in the wedding business and haven’t heard about the the Little Black Book then you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years. The book features the best vendors in the industry for invitations as well as photography, event planning, and more! You’ll find our listing in the Hamptons section under invitations, check it out and let us know what you think.

Good news for all of the brides to be out there! We’ve updated our wedding portfolio with three brand new letterpress designs. Okay, well two of the designs are new and one we recently featured on the blog (Insert your text here …) as a design in progress. We’re always looking for inspiration and the motivation behind each of these designs led to some unique invitations.

The first invite (above), Beach Grass, was inspired by our childhood memories of the beaches on the south shore of Long Island. The invite is embellished with a lagoon colored shimmery stardream enclosure and a custom seal to secure the enclosure. We’ve been working hard to get the best embellishments for our brides and more information on these finishing touches will be coming to the custom page soon.

The Venice invitation features a bold pattern which we reversed so that the floral design remains bumped up in white while the background is printed in blue. To complete the look of the invitation we printed the name of the bride and groom on a custom blue belly band.

The last invite we’ve added to the products page is our Modern Circles design. The custom envelope liner featured above inspired us to create this wedding set. The invite and reply card are letterpress printed in three colors (black, gray, and chartreuse) to match the liner. We really love the simplicity and elegance of this design and that liner is gorgeous!
We’re looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks!

We designed and letterpress printed this wedding invitation set for Monica and Gregory who are having a destination wedding in New Orleans. Monica wanted something fun and playful yet sophisticated, which we achieved by playing around with a bunch of different patterns of squares and stripes. We have to say that this is one of our favorite wedding invitations because of the combination of different elements from the bold patterns to the mounted invitation and enclosure.

The invitation was printed in charcoal and fern color ink and mounted on matching stardream paper and charcoal enclosure. The knockout of the intersecting square pattern on the invite creates raised white squares for a unique effect. The square theme was continued on the additional pieces as shown below for the RSVP, Welcome, and Accomodation cards. The envelope was made from the same fern colored stardream paper and embellished with a custom liner to tie the whole set together.
