Hi, I’m Jason Sanders. Nice to meet you. June 10, 2011
3-Color letterpress business cards for @jasonsanders.
When we saw Jason’s concept for business cards we thought it was pretty neat. After all, people spend a lot of time, money, and effort on design that communicates the right message. A business card is all about grabbing your attention, telling you who they are and, how to continue the dialogue. We think that Jason’s card do just that and look really great at the same time! Check out all of the photos after the break …
We work with a lot of our clients through email. Especially for people who aren’t on Long Island, it can be tough to drop by the studio. Part of our reason for these posts is to show people what we do.
It usually takes a bit of back and forth to nail down all of the aspects of a job (size, color, design, stock, finishing, etc.) before we can go to press. Even when a job finally gets printed, there can be things that hinder production. Not everything that gets put in a design works on paper and part of what we love about printing is working through those problems to create something cool!
The business cards were printed on our house stock, 110lb. Crane’s Lettra in Pearl White. We printed the cards on a 10×15 Heidelberg Windmill in pale blue, medium gray, and black. To achieve the perfect solid light blue color we skip fed the cards, which works perfect for small runs. We really like the contrast of the small delicate type to the large bold lettering.
We had a little fun photographing Jason’s cards! This is what happens when we try to be creative before our morning cup of coffee.
A quick trim on the paper cutter finished the cards to a 3.5″ x 2″ size.
There’s no better way to sum up this post then to say:
“Nice to meet you”, and have a great weekend!
