Harry's 1st birthday party was a blast! We posted his invitations a few weeks back (Harry's First Birthday Invitations) but haven't had a chance until now to get all the photos together from the party.
We printed some fun things for his party - including a custom photo sleeve to hold polaroids and a foil sticker for the favors (animal shortbreads - YUM!).
But a party isn't about the favors, its about family and friends coming together to celebrate Harrison's 1st Birthday!
There were a lot of fun details including the flowers, a piñata, games, polaroids, animal cookies, and more.
Size – 4″ x 5″ (folded)
Stock – Imperial Blue Colorplan (100lb Cover)
Foil Stamping – Metallic Gold – Kluge (10×15)
Finishing – Score/Fold + Gold Paper Clip
Design – Dolce Press
We love polaroids and thought it would be fun for everyone to take photos at the party. For the photos we used an instant camera (The Instax Mini B) which we opted for over a traditional camera and wireless printer because the photos felt more nostalgic.
The photo prints come out at approximately 2 1/8″ x 3 3/8″.
Location: The Snapper Inn
Date: September 27th, 2015
Guests: Family + Friends
Dessert: Audrey’s Fine Baked Goods (cake)
Party Favor: The Sugar Chic (Oatmeal Cream Pies + Shortbread Cookies)
We picked the Snapper Inn because of the beautiful water views and great food. They lawn in the back of the restaurant was perfect for the kids – there was a Piñata (stuffed with candy + toys), face masks, bubbles, and board games!
The cake was made by Audrey’s, our favorite local bakery. The top layer was vanilla cake with a vanilla buttercream and the bottom was vanilla cake with a chocolate frosting.
We let harry pick his favorite animals – he picked a zebra, giraffe, lion and an elephant for the cake. Audrey’s did an amazing job on the animals, we wanted them to stand out on the cake so the other colors / decorations were kept to a minimum.

Each cookie was packed in a box with a clear lid. We cut paper into thin strips and used it to make a bed for each animal. The box was sealed with the foil stickers which had his monogram on the front and the party date on the back.
Our guests left the party happy with some treats and photos with the birthday boy! These cookies, made by the Sugar Chic, were delicious and the gold foil stickers were the perfect minimal touch. My favorite was the elephant!
We hope we’ve inspired you for your next party. The first birthday was a blast and we’ve already started planning the second one. Some people joke that the first birthday is all about the parents but its true – we got everything we wanted!
