Two-tone letterpress business cards with tight registration.
We recently printed these business cards for Brent Mykytyshyn, a commercial photographer. He has some great photos ranging from commercial work to interiors and our personal favorite, food. Check out the bottom of the post for a photo of his that we really liked!
The business cards were designed by DeAnne Bedier, an art director and designer. We also printed some neat cards for her which we hope to post next week. She supplied the design files (Adobe Illustrator is best) to us and we separated the colors, made plates, cut paper, and printed them.
The business card was designed in a two-tone gray (medium and dark gray) with a tight registration between the colors (see below). Each gray color was printed in a single pass through the press. While adding a second color can increase the cost, the added effect is great! We used a standard 110lb fluorescent white lettra for these business cards, which provides a heavy impression.
This photo really shows just how tight the registration was.
Here is one of Brent’s food photographs that we think is just perfect. We’re suckers for a great plate of food!
