Custom die-cut 2-color letterpress holiday boxes.
Wow it’s been a crazy few months preparing for holiday season and boy are we glad it’s here! We’ve been waiting to publish photos of these boxes and today was the perfect time. We’ve got some really great letterpress holiday cards this year and we wanted a box that would knock your socks off. As if that wasn’t good enough news, we’re happy to announce that our Word Search letterpress holiday cards were selected by Uncommon Goods as a finalist in their holiday card contest. The voting for them went live yesterday, check them out here and VOTE!
Check out all of the photos of these cards after the break …
The boxes were made entirely in our studio from the printing to the die-cutting and the assembly, it was really a fun process. We printed the boxes flat on one of the Vandercooks in two colors. The first color was an light-gray just dark enough to add contrast to the pattern.
The pattern and the new logo were designed by the DivisionOf/ team, who did a great job of incorporating all of the aspects of what we do. The branding and logo are actually part of a whole suite of new stationery pieces we recently printed – more details to come soon!
For the second ink, we printed our logo in the Dolce Press color across the front flap of the box. To make the box more versatile, we added stickers – which were offset printed – with the name of the design and contents.
Once printed, we die cut out each sheet and glued/assembled the boxes. A small velcro dot was used to hold the box closed.
The box fits 6 cards and envelopes snugly and is a great way to store them. You can see the cards sticking out of the box in these photos (above).
As I mentioned above, the Word Search holiday design is now up for voting on the Uncommon Goods community voting app. You can vote for us here (http://t.co/uJq4ex3m) … so please do!
Stay tuned for more great letterpress holiday cards all week long!
