We’re happy to finally be posting these business cards we printed for At Media, a philadelphia based branding agency. They designed the cards and did a great job mixing color and texture, especially in the use of the blind patterns used on each side. We also edge colored the cards in magenta and cyan to match the ink color used for Tyler’s and Antoinette’s cards.

Here are letterpress business cards we designed and printed a while back for Bryan at Happen Media. The cards are pretty straightforward, letterpress printed in three colors: Dark Gray, Medium Gray, and Blind. We used a 110lb. Crane’s Lettra stock in a fluorescent white color.

The star pattern works well as a blind press because it’s a basic shape, the more complex the pattern you’re trying to print the less likely that it will reproduce well. The logo was printed in both grays and is partially surrounded by the star pattern. We cut the cards down to a standard size (3.5″ x 2″).

olollo is a custom furniture design studio that specializes in all aspects of the process from design to creation and installation. We were stoked about this certificate project they sent our way. The concept for the letterpress cards was something they could give to new homeowners/renters that was part art, part promotional. The finished piece was perfect and really highlights what you can accomplish with a 1-color design. Follow the break for more photos and info on production.

The mix of silver and purple really popped on these cards.

Wow that was fast! We just sent out these cards and Tom @ Tom Wang Photography has already posted photos of them to his blog. We’re really happy that so many photographers trust us with creating their business cards!

Tom’s cards were printed on 110lb lettra in flourescent white. The text was done in metallic silver ink and the camera logo in a custom purple. After printing we duplexed the cards to create a 220lb stock. The cards were cut to 3.5″ x 2″ and edge colored using the same custom purple color.

We took our photos of the cards in the shop using Instagram. You can see more photos of Tom’s cards on his website: New Business Cards. Or better yet, if you see Tom, bug him for a new card! We really like this photo Tom posted of his cards, it really highlights how cool edge coloring is.

We started working with Sam (DJ WLDCT) a few months ago on his business cards. Like most artists, Sam had a vision for his cards and tapped us for information on how best to translate that to paper. We really enjoyed the collaborative process! He had the original layout and logo designed by a graphic designer, but to highlight the letterpress technique we tweaked the layout. A large embossing die and counter used for the certificates.

We had the pleasure of creating letterpress certificates for Alyce Hoggan for the Kynamatrix Research Network, a non-profit focused on accelerating scientific research. We’ve worked with Alyce before, through Motivara – a Redmond, WA based graphic design firm. We took some photos of the embossing dies and the finished piece to give everyone insight into the production. Check out all of the photos after the break.

 It took long enough! We finally have t-shirts for Dolce Press.

We printed some t-shirts recently for everyone at the shop and I finally got around to shooting some photos of them. There’s nothing worse than getting ink or grease on your shirt so we designed these shirts with that in mind! So far we’ve got 3 different designs one about vandercooks, another about business cards, and the third about being type “high”.
