The detail of the metallic gold lion looks great when pressed into the paper.
Creative business cards aren’t just for creatives. While it’s important for creative individuals to showcase their work, people in more traditional industries like finance need to distinguish themselves from their competition too. These cards were designed by Kirsten Navin for the Long Wall Capital Management Group based in Weston, CT.
The business cards were letterpress printed in metallic gold and green inks on 220lb cotton paper in soft white. Two things of interest: 1) Metallic gold (as we’ve discussed before) doesn’t show up shinny on uncoated stock but does create a nice shimmer and 2) the detail in the gold lion holds up perfectly when pressed into the paper.
These business cards were printed using photopolymer plates, which can’t hold as much detail as magnesium plates. The important thing with any plate and print is to ensure that rollers are set at the right height. We’d show you a sample of what overinked/underinked prints look like but we don’t have any. 😉
