Heslington’s Luxury Stationery

Specialty Business Cards + Stationery

Upgrade your messaging with custom letterpress and foil stamped stationery. Our luxury stationery is letterpress printed and foil stamped on a combination of textured paper and envelopes. The letterpress printed text allows you to highlight and add texture to your company’s logo, while foil stamping makes it shine. Sara’s cards up the ante with a mixture of cotton paper and a leather like paper stock from Gmund Paper.

How to mix letterpress and foil:

When designing for letterpress and foil there are so many tips and tricks – knowing the strengths of each can really make the difference. Here is a quick review of where each works best:

Letterpress is best for spot colors and fine to medium colors. Printing on white and textured stock isn’t an issue. Letterpress doesn’t work well with large solids (with some exceptions) or with light colors on dark paper.Foil stamping is the best option for printing on dark paper because foils are usually much more opaque than ink is. Foil can bring metallics and specialty finishes to life and provides a unique contrast to letterpress

When done right, the mixture of the two can help elevate the branding and overall message of the stationery – like with the stationery we helped design for Sara at Heslington’s. It can be hard to keep it all straight, that’s why we’re here. Contact us and we can help flawlessly execute the design and print of your next project.

What about different papers?

We carry an extensive line of colored paper + envelopes that pair beautifully to our 100% cotton paper. There are over 50 color options (including some new additions – Dusty Blue / Dusty Rose). Four our standard palette of papers, check out our Paper Collection. Sometimes to match brand colors, we have to source from other mills – Mohawk, Neenah, Gmund, French, and Reich to name a few (among others … yes there is an unending list of options).

For Sara, not only was she looking for a particular blue/green shade but she also wanted to add more texture to the finish. We selected Gmund Leather (they call it “Gmund Heather”) in Peacock, which has a beautiful embossed texture that mimics real leather. To balance the peacock paper, we matched the letterpress ink to the stock and also paired the notecard with a Gmund Colors Matt envelope in Dark Teal Blue (same color but not textured).
