    I ♥ Crane’s Paper
    November 26, 2007

Thanksgiving is over and now I am back in the swing of things. Today I recieved the Cranes Palette swatch book. Can I just say that the palette collection is simply fabulous! The colors are vibrant and best of all it is 100% cotton like Cranes Lettra so, it takes impressions beautifully. Even the presentation of the swatchbook is great (I cant help it, it’s the graphic designer in me). The palette collection has a 134# cover in a kid finish that seems to be the best for use on letterpress.

    2. hi, thanks for making me a contact on flickr. love your work and your blog is great. this cranes palette looks wonderful. i’ve only used paper source paper and i’m not 100% happy with it. i can’t get an impression in it. might try some of this or the lettra paper. :)

    3. Thanks for your comment Erika. The Crane’s paper is beautiful!

When I start any project I always do a run in cardstock which is a similar weight and has the same texture as paper source cards. By adjusting the packing, I can get a nice bite in the cardstock without distorting the paper.

I’ll have to take a look at your site in a little bit

    4. I couldn’t agree more. Absolutely LOVE the stuff. And your website for that matter. The look of your site, and your little logo are so lovely to look at. One of my closest friends is obsessed with good stationary, and was living in London for a while and always sent me Cranes and other fab cards. I got hooked myself (as I was living there too).

    5. Oh I am absolutely drooling with envy; as far as I know Crane’s isn’t available in the UK, at least not locally to me, and my paper merchant says he can get it but it is horrendously expensive…it looks gorgeous though!

    6. Thanks PG. Is it expensive to ship to the UK? Maybe if you contact Crane’s directly they might send you some samples. I guess it doesn’t hurt to ask. Let me know how it goes. The sample departments number is 1.800.613.4507. They seem to be very accomodating for businesses.

    7. Thanks to your link I have had a look at the Cranes site and there is just one UK importer, so I am going to ring them today. I am also going to email Cranes to plead for a swatchbook…
