    Networking Letterpress Cards
    November 4, 2011

Taking photos for a design spread. Also going to be posting these today to the blog.

Custom business cards we designed  for a senior network expert in Austria.

Manfred, a networking engineer, came to us to get new business cards designed and printed. We worked back and forth with him to achieve a design that was focused around connectivity. Manfred actually spotted some of our work in the “Impressive – Printmaking, Letterpress and Graphic Design” from Die Gestalten Verlag UK Ltd., which you can see here: Impressive: Printmaking, Letterpress and Graphic Design.

Here’s the final card in three colors (blind, blue, & gray), which was printed on 220lb cotton paper. We love when clients have a vision for their cards, Manfred sent along this image of a network graph that he liked.

Below are two 3D (stereoscopic) photos we shot of the cards:

The size of the network pattern was perfect, it definitely gives the cards a visual appeal and the letterpress effect only adds to it. NOTE: Wondering what the Dipl.-Ing in front of Manfred’s name stands for? We did too! Manfred told us that it stands for Diplom-Ingenieur or in english a diploma in engineering (equivalent to a Master’s).

Those are really nice. Yes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland they are quite formal about their studies so pretty much anyone who has studied a few years is either a Dipl.-Ing. or a Dr. and insist heavily on the title to be used, even when being addressed to  ;-)
